Six die in fog related accidents in Punjab

Dense fog in parts of Punjab triggered road accidents, claiming six lives and injuring 28 others in the wee hours of Monday.

A blanket of fog on highway in Sheikhupura, about 35 km northwest of Lahore, caught five vehicles in a pile-up, leaving at least four people dead and more than 15 injured, Rescue 1122 said.
Elsewhere in Punjab, another mishap was reported near Sahiwal, where a bus-truck collision left two people dead and 13 injured near Koreshah area.
The injured were rushed to district hospital, rescue officials said.
Meanwhile, authorities closed the Motorway from the Kala Shah Kaku Interchange to Thokar Niaz Beg due to the dense fog and low visibility on the highway.
Separately, the fog also prevailed in parts of Sindh where some 12 people were injured in a road accident on the National Highway near Nawabshah.
