LAHORE – Momina Cheema’s first death anniversary was observed on Sunday at the Punjab University Law College. Socio-political figures and university students attended the ceremony to pay rich tribute to the late student.
Momina’s parents, noted columnist Tayyaba Cheema and Dr Akhtar Cheema, Chaudhry Aitzaz Ahsan, Orya Maqbool Jan and others who spoke on the occasion said that Momina highlighted the country’s name abroad and the establishment of the Momina Cheema Foundation was the right way to honour her.
The audiences were informed that the the Momina Cheema Foundation awarded 29 scholarships to needy and intelligent student last year. Two of the scholarship holders, Afshah Shaheen and Sundas Salim, said that Momina was role model for them.
