LHCBA visits Deputy PM

LAHORE – A delegation of Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA), headed by its President Abid Saqi, called on Deputy Prime Minister Ch Pervaiz Elahi at his residence on Sunday.

Delegation included Vice-President Ch Ghulam Sarwar Nehang, Secretary General M Baleeghuzzaman Ch, Finance Secretary Usman Sher Gondal and Aamer Saeed Raan and others.
Talking to the delegation, Ch Parvez Elahi said that the role of lawyers’ community in strengthening of independent judiciary and democracy was very important. He said that as the Punjab CM he had established the institution of the Prosecutor General for quick dispensation of justice in the province, appointed Public Defenders, set up Consumers Courts, provided free medical facilities to the lawyers, established Lawyers Housing Colony for solving the residential problems of the lawyers. “Our govt launched and completed a large number of welfare projects for people from all walks of life including the lawyers,” he concluded.
LHCBA President Abid Saqi appreciated the welfare works of Ch Parvez Elahi for the lawyers’ community, adding that the lawyers’ community would not allow democracy to be derailed.
