PA speaker vows to carry on welfare

LAHORE – Speaker Punjab Assembly Rana Muhammad Iqbal has said that the contract employees, waiting for years, have been regularized by the present the Punjab government.

Addressing the oath taking ceremony of APCA unit of Post Graduate Medical Institute here on Sunday, he said the health and education initiatives would go a long way to put the province on the track to progress and prosperity.  He took oath from the newly elected APCA office bearers. Rana Iqbal said the employees working in health institutions were fortunate as they have opportunity to serve the ailing humanity. He said the CM has promoted medical education while the establishment of Ameer-ud-Din Medical College was one of the glaring examples of his commitment.
He said that if the masses express their confidence on the same government in the upcoming election, they would have more public friendly policies. PGMI principal and Ameer-ud-Din Medical College Prof Anjum Habib Vohra said the Punjab government has done great job for the welfare of health institutions employees.
APCA president Ch Imtiaz Ahmed said that every possible effort would be put in to solve the employee’s problems.
GCDA finalized proposals:The General Cadre Doctors Association (GCDA) has finalised proposals for submitting to the Health Department committee.
These proposals constituted for devising transfer policy for healthcare providers in the province.
The GCDA will submit its proposals to the committee headed by Special Secretary Health which will meet on Monday (today) to finalise recommendations for devising doctors transfer policy. As per GCDA President Dr Masood Sheikh, formulation of a transfer policy is part of agreement between doctors associations and the government. He said the doctors transferring policy would put the practices of liking and disliking to an end and it would also stop politically motivated transfers.
