Usman Khlaid contended in his petition that he was a loyal Pakistani and according to the ideology of Pakistan he was in true love with Jinnah. He said the MQM leader Altaf Hussain on January 10 used contemptuous language against the great leader.
He claimed Altaf not only hurt his sentiments but also committed a crime according to the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). He said Jinnah was a great leader who fought against the British rule for the Muslims of subcontinent.
“Altaf tried to please his British masters,” the petitioner alleged.
He informed the court that he contacted the SHO concerned but to no avail. The petitioner implored the court to direct the cop to register a criminal case against Altaf. After hearing the petition, the judge directed SHO Sandha to submit comments by January 16.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain tirade against Jinnah on Thursday drew ire among the people.
Also on Friday, a large number of people took to City streets to vent their rage over the Altaf remarks. They burnt the effigy of Altaf and shouted slogans against the fair-weather friend of rulers.
