LAHORE – CIA spokesperson on Friday claimed to arrest three accused allegedly involved in kidnapping a minor for ransom and recovered Rs 120000 from their possession.
In another bid accused Mehmood Alam posed to be kidnapped and asked for Rs 2 millions as ransom from his brother-in-law. Cases were registered with police stations Samanabad and Noulakha under sections 365/A, 7ATA PPC and 365 PPC respectively. According to details in the minor kidnapping case which happened on 6th January 2013, two and half years old Ali Ahmad, son of Muhamamd Shehzad was kidnapped by his uncle Khalid Husain with the help of two other. Accused after kidnapping asked for ransom of Rs 300000 from the family. The family members of the kidnapped contacted the police and got their case registered and after which the case was referred to CIA police. SP CIA assigned the investigation to Inspector Tariq Kayani. On mysterious movements of Khalid Hussain, the uncle of kidnapped, inspector asked the complainants to pay ransom money to accused but monitor the movement of Khalid as well. Khalid was arrested red handed when he was receiving his share from accused at Raiwind Road, during preliminary interrogation accused confessed that he was fond of gambling and was with short of money when he staged the drama.
In the other case, Mehmood Alam who posed to be kidnapped, went missing on December 23, 2012 after dropping his wife from Faisalabad to Lahore Township area. His last call was made from Lahore station and after which he told his wife that he was kidnapped. He told his wife that the kidnappers were demanding Rs 2 millions for his release.
He asked his wife to ask her brother to arrange the amount. The CIA team traced the ‘kidnapped’ who was staying in a hotel of Rawalpindi and was making fake calls of his kidnapping.
