Memo report: PML-N seeks treason suit against corrupt rulers

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Tuesday has said that the Memogate Commission report has laid bare the real face of the rulers, pleaded the Supreme Court (SC) to put them on exit control list (ECL). Meantime, Central leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khwaja Asif, talking to media in the federal capital, demanded the prosecution of treason suit against the rulers for violating the Constitution of Pakistan. It should be mentioned here that the Memogate Commission’s report revealed that the former ambassador of Pakistan to the US, Hussain Haqqani moved against the interests of the country. Talking to media in Lahore, Rana Sana said if the memo was genuine, then the role of the ‘boss’ also stands substantiated. He noted that the court should not allow the ruling band to flee the country. It is pertinent to note here that the report said Haqqani, seeking a major role as the head of new security team, leaked important information to the US, only to give impression that the civil government installed in Islamabad is friendly to the US and can help it in its non-proliferation efforts.
