LAHO RE Chief MinisterShahbaz Sharif has said on Tuesday that Oct 12, 1999 is one of the blackest days of our history and on this day, all political parties of Pakistan should express their determination that they will not allow recurrence of such incidents in future. In his special message regarding October 12, the Chief Minister said that had democratic process not been derailed in different phases of the history of Pakistan we have not been facing serious problems like terrorism, load-shedding, price-hike and unemployment. He said that the solution to the problems of Pakistan lies in the continuity and stability of democracy which is free from corruption, nepotism and plundering. He said that had the projects in communication, health and education sectors launched during the previous government of Nawaz Sharif not been suspended by General Musharraf, the Pakistan would have been included in the developed countries of the world. The Chief Minister said that today Pakistani people salute sacrifices made by those who faced bravely the state oppression during Musharrafs dictatorship and laid down their lives for the restoration of democracy.
