LAHORE - Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaquat Baloch has urged the government to announce schedule for the upcoming general elections as the time for local government polls had passed.
Baloch regretted that even after eleven years of the incident, the US had not succeeded in bringing round the facts rather it had massacred hundreds of thousands of innocent Muslims in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan in its war on terror. He said 9/11 had proved part of the war plan of New World Order. He said the US was facing a humiliating defeat in Afghanistan and was trying to make Pakistan scapegoat for its vested interests in the region. He said India was putting pressure on the US to clip the wings of Pakistan.
He said the nuclear programme was the real target of anti-Pakistan forces. He demanded the government pull out of the so-called war on terror for security and integrity of the country and devise foreign policy in accordance with the aspirations of the nation.
He said the provincial and federal governments had failed to solve the problems of the people so the rulers should announce schedule of general elections as soon as possible. He demanded the rulers form a caretaker setup and hold free and fair general elections rather running after the local government polls.
