LAHORE – Kashmiri leaders have appealed to people of the Valley to unite against international conspiracies for deciding the fate of Kashmir without their consent.
Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front chief Aman Ullah Khan, Kashmir Action Committee president Justice (Retd) Sharif Hussain Bukhari, JI Kashmir leader of City chapter Ijaz Kiyani, advisor to prime minister AJK Deewan Ghulam Mohiyudeen, member Islamic Ideology Council Maulana Shafi Josh, president JKLF Punjab Sardar Anwar and PPP AJK’s Farooq Azad made this appeal while addressing a seminar in connection with Maqbool Butt’s 28th martyrdom anniversary at Lahore Press Club on Sunday.
The speakers said that Kashmiri people would not accept any resolution on the issue, which didn’t enjoy the support of its people. They said that it was vital that Kashmiris be made part of every effort taken by the international and regional players with sincerity to settle the issue.
They asserted that the world should realise that peace in the region could not be completely restored without resolving the Kashmir issue.
Representatives of the Kashmiri people said that Pakistan should give due priority to the core issue of Kashmir in each round of talks with India whenever a dialogue takes place.
While paying rich tributes to the sacrifices of Shaheed Maqbool Butt for the independence of Kashmir, the leaders said that such martyrs have kept the flame of independence alight, among people of the Valley.
