Hearing of Rahi’s plea adjourned

LAHORE - Additional District and Sessions Judge Rai Ayub Khan on Thursday adjourned hearing of a petition filed by folk singer Akram Rahi seeking registration of case against five people allegedly involved in extorting money from him for getting a property transferred in his name.
Petitioner Akram Rahi submitted that one Muhammad Azam, on October 2, 2004, sold a five-marla plot, located in Sabzazar Block-M, to him against Rs1,050,000. Rahi said he had paid him Rs850,000 in advance and agreed to pay the rest amount on the land transfer. Later Azam disappeared, he maintained and prayed to the court to take action against Azam and his accomplices involved in the case.
After hearing the arguments, the court adjourned the hearing till July 20.
