NH&MP nabs five culprits

LAHORE – National Highways and Motorway Police (NH&MP) N-5 Central have arrested five culprits including a proclaimed offender involved in snatching of vehicles and transportation of liquor besides returning lost purse of a lady passenger during the last few days.
Officers of NH&MP N-5 Central, SPO Akif Bajwa and SPO Noor, arrested Saeed Moavia of Muzaffargarh when their speeding vehicle was stopped and 538 bottles of liquor were found from it. Similarly Rashid of Rahim Yar Khan was arrested when he was trying to flee with the snatched Bedford Truck E-4700. Likewise, Younas of Okara, a proclaimed offender, and Zafar of Bahawalnagar were also arrested for their illegal activities.
Motorway Police N-5 Central also foiled two attempts of snatching and recovered snatched Mazda loaded with furniture and a truck (LS-2616) loaded with lubricant worth Rs 0.3 million. On the directions of Zonal Commander N-5 Central DIG Rai Altaf Hussain, the arrested criminals and recovered items were handed over to the local police for further legal action.
Separately, officers of N-5 Central Zone helped a lady passenger to find her lost purse left in a Hiace van. The purse contained 15 gram gold and cash worth 10, 000. IG NH&MP Zafar Abbas Luk appreciated the efforts of the officers and granted them commendation certificates and cash rewards for the excellent performance of duties.
