LAHORE - Pakistan International Airlines on the fifth day of its haj operation sent five special haj flights carrying around 2200 pilgrims on Thursday. PIA’s PK2109 carrying 502 pilgrims left Islamabad at 5:20AM, PK2607 carrying 327 at 10.25AM from Karachi, PK2209 carrying 499 at 11:25AM and PK2309 carrying 505 pilgrims at 7.20PM from Lahore and PK2009 carrying 324 at 2:00PM from Peshawar.
The departure and arrival of all flights was on time. PIA Spokesperson said, “till now the total uplift of estimated pilgrims stand at 9,100 by twenty two haj flights.”
So far, three haj flights from Karachi carried 929, six flights from Lahore 2,955; seven flights from Islamabad 3,312; three flights from Peshawar 903 and two flights from Quetta carried 656 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia. On Saturday, 14th September, a total of four special flights are scheduled to operate; two from Islamabad and one each from Lahore and Peshawar, PIA Spokesperson concluded.
