Police directed to produce Qari Wahab

LAHO RE- An Anti-terrorism Court on Tuesday directed police to produce Qari Abdul Wahab alias Umer on December 20, 2010, a key accused allegedly involved in the attack on the Sri Lankan Cricket Team in Lahore. Before this, the court had sent three accused Qari Wahab, Qari Ishaq and Malik Zubair to jail for their identification parade. On Tuesday, police informed the court that identification parade of all three accused has been completed. , after which the court on Tuesday directed police to produce abovementioned terror suspects before the court on December 20, 2010. As per details, CIA Police had arrested the three accused for their allegedly involvement in the attack on the Sri Lankan Cricket Team. Six Sri Lankan players including Captain Mahela Jayawaredene, his deputy Kumar Sangakkara, Ajantha Mendis, Thilan Samaraweera, Tharanga Paranavitana and Chaminda Vaas had sustained injuries during the attack. Six escorting policemen were also killed in the attack. According to initial police report, Abdul Wahab belongs to Dera Ismail Khan and was affiliated with Lashkar-e-Jhangvi and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). He got training at a camp in Waziristan, specialized in preparing suicide jackets and operating all types of weapons, the report added.
