After DI Khan attack, police on highalert across Punjab

LAHORE – Following terrorists’ gun and bomb attack on the office of the District Police Officer (DPO) in D.I Khan, the Inspector General of Police Punjab Javed Iqbal has directed the police to step up security for the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (R.A) to be held on Sunday (today).
According to a police spokesperson, in the wake of DI Khan attack the police have been put on high alert across the province to thwart any possible terror attempt.
The Provincial Police Officer Javed Iqbal, in a letter issued in this regard, has directed all Regional Police Officers (RPOs), District police Officers (DPOs) and Field Police officers to adopt all possible measures to ensure fool proof security at all sensitive places, official buildings, trading points, hotels, Masajids, Imam Barghas. The police have also been directed to intensify security around the procession routs of Chehlum Hazrat Imam Hussain, police buildings, headquarters, police pickets, and police training institutions.
