Fire guts cloth market in Lahore causing millions of rupee losses

Fire gutted a cloth market in a trade centre of the provincial capital early Saturday morning causing millions of rupee losses.

According to details, fire caused due to unknown reasons erupted in a three-storey building located in Azam cloth market.
Fire brigades and rescue teams reached the scene soon after getting the information and brought the fire under control within two hours.
Meantime cloth present in various shops and godowns of the market was burnt to ashes.
Sources said that it was not accidental fire but the cloth market was set ablaze intentionally.
The affected shopkeepers have demanded the provincial government for compensation of their losses and strict action against those responsible.
