He added that the PPP had only wanted to adopt the 20th constitutional amendment to protect its 28 assembly members, but PML-N has laid the foundation of an independent and neutral election commission through this amendment.
He said that federal government has also issued a notification of handing over Sheikh Zayed Hospital to Punjab government while accepting the right of the province under 18th constitutional amendment.
Ishaq Dar said that setting up drug regulatory authority at federal level could solve the pharmaceutical issues in a better manner than if they were established on provincial level. The Punjab government had conveyed its consent to the federation and now it has also been decided through negotiations.
Senator Ishaq Dar appreciated the university administration for constructing faculty lodges with a meager budget and assured that the government will provide funds for the establishment of UHS Kala Shah Kaku Campus.
Earlier, UHS Vice Chancellor Prfessor Malik Hussain Mubbashar highlighted the university’s achievement for establishing strategic partnerships with renowned international institutions. He further said that an Institute of Research Excellence would be established at Kala Shah Kaku campus in collaboration with University of Liverpool, UK, to develop a cohort of young researchers who would carry on translational research in cancers, obesity, genetics, cardiovascular diseases, hypertension, biomedical engineering, neuro-sciences and infectious diseases.
