LAHORE - Promotion case of FIA director Waqar Haider was deferred due to unknown reasons and the issue remained topic of discussion among the officers and employees of the agency, a senior officer seeking anonymity said on Friday. 
FIA officers said ZARCO chief executive Lakht-e-Hasnain played a vital role in deferring the promotion case of Haider. Since the former had differences with Haider when his company was raided and more than 700 outlets were seized by the FIA.  On the other hand, some officers believed Hasnain was not behind the delay of promotion but Haider was not in good books of judiciary, bureaucracy and even in FIA headquarters, Islamabad.
