LAHORE – Member National Assembly, Hamza Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday said that educated youth is the hope of a bright future of Pakistan.
He said that education was the only difference between democratic and undemocratic countries. He said that Punjab government had opened the doors of modern education including IT for the youth and laid the foundation of educational revolution in the province through its programmes like Daanish Schools while setting up Endowment Fund and introduced laptops on merit.
Chairman IT Board Punjab Dr Umer Saif, Advisor to Chief Minister Zakiya Shahnawaz, Special Assistant on High Education Zaeem Qadri and a large number of male and female students were present on the occasion.
Hamza Shahbaz said that Pakistan was lucky that majority of its population comprised of youth however it was up to the government how it utilises their talent. He said that if Pakistan would have spent the money it had spent in terrorism on education our youth would have become an effective weapon against terrorism.
Hamza Shahbaz said that our neighbouring countries while learning a lesson from their past experiences had promoted democratic norms but we were still groping in the dark and that was why we as a nation were facing such problems.
He said that our IT experts and students had shown outstanding performance especially in eliminating dengue by using IT.
He said that 150 research institutions and 100 universities of the country augers well for the future. He hoped that our youth equipped with latest knowledge would prove to be harbinger of positive democratic changes in Pakistan.
