13,129 candidates apply for admission in PUCIT

LAHORE – Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Mujahid Kamran on Sunday visited examination centres at Wahdat Road and Lawrence Road to review the facilities being provided for the entry test of BS programme of the on merit College of Information Technology (PUCIT).
The vice chancellor lauded the arrangements and appreciated the staff. While briefing the vice chancellor, PUCIT Principal Prof Dr Mansoor Sarwar said for the first time in the college’s history, as many as 13,129 candidates had applied for admission in the BS programme due to its excellent IT education.
He said 6,000 students took entry test at Wahdat Road centre, while almost 4,000 and 3,000 students appeared at Lawrence Road centre in two shifts. He added generator and water coolers had been provided as well as separate waiting area for the parents. Dr Sarwar informed that 360 students were admitted on merit at GIS Centre in New Campus. He said the decision had been widely appreciated by the IT industry since the PUCIT, due to its quality education, was catering to the demand and providing the best human resource to the IT industry.
