LAHORE – Punjab Chief Secretary Nasir Mehmood Khosa suspended on Friday PCS Officers Organization President Rai Manzoor Nasir and Secretary General Dr Shoaib Warraich (who is also former additional home secretary) for 90 days.
The chief secretary issued Order No S1.2-2/2011(B) to suspend the top provincial officers. Rai Nasir while talking to TheNation said that he had been suspended for the sixth time for raising voice for lawful rights of his community.
Counting other reasons for his suspension, he said: “I presented a plan to end corruption of Rs500 billion by the Patwaris and stood against the top bureaucracy. I got abolished the project allowance that saved billions of rupees.” Nasir further stated that he called for cutting unnecessary expenses of the federal bureaucracy.
He said that an FIR was registered against them and they were arrested along with 73 other officers. Now, as the DMG had withdrawn the FIR, there was no reasoning for further suspension.
He said that he was punished time and again for suing the DMG in the apex court in a constitutional petition seeking to declare the appointment of CSP officers in the provinces as null and void. Rai Nasir said that the creation of the DMG was against the law. The chief secretary was not available for comments.
