Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani says the Government has brought a paradigm shift in the political landscape of the country with its consensus politics‚ based on tolerance and diversity.

The Prime Minister said the PPP led government has also succeeded in transforming the political divide in the country‚ into a culture of harmony and accommodation.
He said our mission to achieve consensus on all issues of national interest will continue despite various challenges.
The Prime Minister said the federation has been strengthened by the restoration of 1973 constitution back to its true form. The passage of the 18th‚ the 19th and the 20th constitutional amendments have brought back the country to the parliamentary democracy.
He said the provinces have been empowered in the real sense to greater provincial autonomy and with devolution of powers to them. He said the 7th NFC Award was adopted which allocated chunks of the economic resources to the provinces.
The Prime Minister said Gilgit-Baltistan was given provincial autonomy while NWFP was named as Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa‚ to fulfill the demand of local people. He said that the democratic government is well aware of the aspirations of people of South Punjab.
The Prime Minister said under the 18th amendment‚ the share of Balochistan in the federal financial pool has been enhanced from 5.1 percent to 9.01 percent. Now Baluchistan's share has been enhanced from forty billion rupees to one hundred twenty billion rupees.
Prime Minister Gilani said the coalition government has achieved many milestones on the economic front.
He said that first time in the country's history‚ our foreign exchange reserves have risen up to eighteen billion dollars.
The exports have grossed to twenty five billion dollars while the remittances have shown phenomenal growth. Per capita income has also risen from nine hundred ninety dollars to one thousand one hundred fifty two dollars.
The Prime Minister said despite the global recession and two devastating floods in the country‚ the Government managed to get annual growth of three point per cent and reduced inflation to ten point eight per cent from twenty-five per cent in 2008.
He said the Government presented a tax-free and growth oriented budget for the next financial year‚ in spite of challenges to country's economy.
The Prime Minister said due to friendly policies of the PPP-led Government‚ Pakistan has been transformed from a wheat-importing country to wheat-exporting country.
Referring to energy shortage‚ he said so far the Government has added three thousand five hundred megawatts of electricity to the national grid. A number of power projects of short‚ medium and long-term‚ have also been initiated to overcome the energy crisis on the permanent basis.
The Prime Minister advised the probationers to address the grievances of a common man.
