Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Solid Waste Management Company Chairman Khawaja Ahmed Hassaan, MPA Mehr Ishtiaq Ahmed, Ozpak Chairman Muhibbi Kartal, and representatives of Turk companies Albaraq and Ozpak were also present on the occasion.
Under these agreements, the SWMC will provide consultation to four districts regarding collection of garbage, shifting of waste and cleanliness through machines. Lahore SWMC Managing Director Waseem Ajmal and district coordination officers (DCOs) of the four districts signed the MOUs.
Speaking on the occasion, Shahbaz Sharif said after the upcoming general elections the PML-N would not only form the government in Punjab but also entire Pakistan. Referring to the Gallup survey report, he claimed that the popularity of PML-N President Nawaz Sharif and his party had increased manifold.
Shahbaz said the PML-N was not afraid of any political party. “We will contest the general elections on the basis of our performance and public service, and will form the government throughout the country with the power of votes of the people.
The chief minister said before the next elections, initial work with regard to modern system of cleanliness would be started in four cities. “Ozpak and ISTAC are efficiently working for making Lahore a clean city,” he maintained.
Shahbaz said the scope of this modern system would be extended to the entire City by the end of this year. He expressed his gratitude to Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan, Mayor Istanbul Municipality Kadir Topbas and his entire team for their personal efforts and interest in the successful execution of these projects.
He said Turkey, Iran and Saudi Arabia were sincere friends of Pakistan. “We need to enhance trade cooperation with these countries,” said Shahbaz, adding that we did not want aid but trade based on mutual cooperation.
Replying to a question, the chief minister said the federal government announced that it would replicate Punjab’s projects but practically did nothing in this connection. Shahbaz said he would visit Turkey at the end of this month where he would hold negotiations with Turk authorities regarding cooperation in energy and other sectors
Also, PTI leaders from Sargodha and former provincial ministers Mehr Ghulam Dastagir Lak and Mehr Yar Lak, the sons of the late Senator Khuda Dad Lak, called on Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday. While expressing their confidence in the leadership of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif, they announced that they would soon join the PML-N.
The leaders of the Lak Group said only Nawaz Sharif could steer the country out of crisis and put it on the road to progress. “Today every person is looking towards him,” they added. They said after joining the PML-N, they would work as workers of the party and for the welfare of the people.
They said they would announce their formal joining of the party during meeting with Nawaz Sharif in a couple of days. Shahbaz Sharif welcomed their decision to join the PML-N and said the party would be further strengthened due to their joining.
