LAHORE – The Lahore High Court (LHC) Wednesday has been informed that a report, showing assets and other details of a visa firm owner facing charges of defrauding public was prepared.
Additional Attorney General Abdul Haye Gilani informed Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi that more than 125 petitions were seeking action against Asim Malik, the owner of Future Concern. He said that the report had been prepared by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) about non-arrest of Asim Malik, his assets and other details. The report had not been signed by the FIA director general, so far, due to his engagements in Islamabad’s long march.
He requested the court to allow more time for submission of the report. The judge accepted his plea and adjourned the hearing till January 21 besides summoning the report.
The petitioners, affectees of visa firm namely Future Concern, had pleaded that they had given money to the company’s chief executive officer for going abroad but they were defrauded. They said Malik neither sent them abroad nor returned their money.
In this case, the court had already ordered FIA to confiscate assets of Asim Malik and his dependents and to also put his name on exit control list (ECL).
