LAHORE - Jamaat-e-Islami Secretary General Liaqat Baloch held President Zardari responsible for the present constitutional, political and democratic crisis in the country.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, he said Zardari doctrine had ruined the party, democracy and the public confidence.
Baloch said the government had a short time to act, and it must announce the elections schedule without any delay instead of attempting to demolish the constitution, the judiciary and democratic process.
He said the Supreme Court judgment against the accused in the rental power case was in accord the constitution and the law. The judiciary, he said, had to act within the constitutional framework and there was no question of timing or mistiming of the decision.
He said Dr Tahirul Qadri’s sit-in was apparently successful but its timing gave rise to doubts in the public mind.
