LAHORE – A man set his sister-in-law on fire after dousing her with petrol at their Bund Road house in the limits of Islampura police on Wednesday.  The attacker fled after the crime.
Police sources said that Ayesha Bibi was rushed to the Mayo hospital in serious condition and raids are underway to arrest the accused, Zulfikar.  The victim told the police investigators that Zulfikar traded barbs on her over a domestic issue. According to the police, the accused set the woman on fire over some domestic issue. The police have registered a case and are investigating.  The incidents of domestic violence are common in this part of the globe because of many reasons – from illiteracy to economic woes. Dozens pf women lost their lives in the city every year after they fall victim to domestic violence. The government is yet to ensure concrete measures to stop such violence.
