RE-Punjab Bar Council (Pb BC) through a resolution has demanded immediate restoration of the judges while condemning what it said, conspiracies being executed through the Aiwane Sadar to stop their reinstatement.
The Inter-Provincial Coordination Committee of the Council met here Friday with M. Iqbal Mohal advocate in the chair, and resolved to demand of PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari immediate implementation of the Murree Accord on the restoration deposed judges and apology to the nation for breaking the 30-day promise in addition to seeking forgiveness of Allah, Almighty.
The meeting commended the PML(N) for quitting the ministries after the government failed to honour the commitment and slated the statement of US officer, John Negroponte against Nawaz Sharif. The Council also took note of, what it believed, conspiracies being hatched at the Aiwane Sadar to block the restoration of judges or that of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary by way of giving fresh appointment to the deposed judges. It said lawyers would boycott any deposed judge who accepted reinstatement without Justice Chaudhary and he would also be regarded as PCO judge and be targeted in their movement.
The Council has also decried the US missile attack on the innocent people in Bajour and demanded expulsion of the US diplomat on this count.
The Council also resolved to abide by all decisions of Pakistan Bar Council. In the last, the Council has called for Rs 50lakh compensation to each victim family of the April 9 incident in Karachi.
