LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said the PML-N popularity was increasing not only in Punjab but also throughout the country, and its candidates would win the upcoming general elections with a thumping majority.
The chief minister said due to revolutionary development programmes initiated by the PML-N government during the last four-and-a-half-years, a network of welfare oriented projects had been laid throughout the province. He said contrary to loot and corruption of the dictatorial era, a new culture of transparency and merit had been introduced in the execution of development schemes.
“The PML-N does not need a certificate from anyone as the confidence of the masses is enough for it. Due to inefficiency, corruption and nepotism of the federal government people are still facing the worst loadshedding even after four and a half years and lakhs of people have been rendered jobless while national institutions are being destroyed through loot and corruption,” Shahbaz held.
Shahbaz said Ali Baba and 40 Thieves had made Pakistan, which was rich in natural resources, a beggar country while national sovereignty had also been put at stake by the incompetent rulers only for few pennies.
“The Zardari gang has not concerned with the problems of the people and the whole gang is engaged in loot and plunder. The people are not ready to tolerate corrupt rulers any longer and will hold the Zardari gang accountable as criminal negligence has been shown to the solution of their problems,” the chief minister added.
Shahbaz Sharif said the PML-N government did not believe in power only for the sake of power but considered it as a means of serving the masses. He said corruption and malpractices had been rooted out through promotion of good governance all over the province.
He further said under a comprehensive strategy revolutionary changes had been brought about in education, health, infrastructure and other sectors.
