Three found dead; two gangs smashed in City

LAHORE – Three people were recovered dead from different parts of the provincial metropolis on Friday, police and rescue workers said.
The identity of all the three men has not been ascertained yet. The police have shifted the bodies to the morgue for autopsy.
According to the police, a 40-year-old man was recovered dead from Gulshan-e-Iqbal police area while a 30-year-old man was lying dead alongside a road in Green Town area.
Another 55-year-old man was lying dead on the footpath in Masti Gate police vicinity. Police investigators claimed that apparently all the three deceased men were baggers.
Also, SP Sadar Police Division Liaqat Ali Malik on Friday said seven members of two different notorious gangs had been rounded up during a special crackdown launched on desperate gangsters, dacoits, and rapist.
Addressing a press conference at his office, he said on the tip-off police raided a hideout and arrested three culprits namely Muhammad Aslam alias Sunni, Naari, and Mazhar Iqbal. “These culprits have confessed to committing several crimes, including robbery, armed robbery, murder and rape,” he said, adding three pistols, bullets, cash prizes, and other stolen valuables have been recovered from their possession.
He further said four motorcycle snatchers involved in snatching and robbery had also been nabbed by Chung SHO Qamar Abbas. The SP said the ringleader namely Zubair alias Zubairi had confessed to committing several crimes including snatching and thefts in different parts of the City in past days. Liaqat also announced cash prizes and commendatory certificates for the raiding police teams.
