No one can dare delay elections, says Shahbaz

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said how could those people, living abroad for the last six years, talk about eradication of corruption and bringing revolution
Talking to Muslim League (Likeminded) leader Atta Maneka at Model Town Thursday, the chief minister said the whole nation knew where these imported elements were when the country was confronting with floods, dengue virus and other natural calamities.
Shahbaz Sharif said the people should recognise those who were raising fake slogans, because the basic agenda of these imported elements was to create chaos and sabotage democratic process.  “No one can dare stop holding of general elections, as no one can snatch the democratic right of the people. True leadership means standing with the nation in the times of difficulty,” the CM held.
The chief minister said the general elections were round the corner and talking of evolution at this stage was not more than a joke. He said those who were trying to derail democracy were committing a national offence for which they would not be forgiven by the history.
Shahbaz Sharif said change and revolution come through practical steps and not through fake sloganeering. Change could come only through vote, he added. He said the holding of general elections was essential, because new mandate had become necessary to bring Pakistan out of crises.
He said delay in elections would be dangerous for the country. He said march drama was enacted to postpone the general elections. He said country was facing serious problems, internally and externally and it could not withstand chaos of any kind.
