Man held for impersonating as CM Secy

LAHORE – An impersonator, who was pretending to be Secretary to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, was arrested on Thursday.
Sami-ud-Din Nayyar telephoned different officers of police, education, agriculture and other departments and recommended different people.
During preliminary interrogation, Sami of Vehari had confessed to telephoning several senior government functionaries for transfers and postings of the employees. The DIG (Operations) spokesman said that recently the impersonator had telephoned the top cops of the Capital City Police DIG Operations Muhammad Tahir Rai constituted a special police team which arrested the accused on Thursday.
Sami phoned Punjab Seed Corporation Managing Director Altaf Khan and him over his ‘wrongdoings’ just to realise him that the Chief Minister was annoyed with him. Earlier, he had telephoned Punjab Seed Corporation MD and asked for the transfer of an officer posted at Rahim Yar Khan to Multan, saying that it had been ordered by the Chief Minister which caused suspicion to Altaf.
