Rs 4.1b for labourers health care

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - Punjab Minister Labour Haji Ehsaan-ud-Din Qureshi has said that labour department will spend Rs 4.1 billion for the provision of healthcare facilities to the labourers and their families. While addressing a delegation of doctors, paramedics and labourers, the minister said that out of Rs 4.1 billion, a sum of Rs 2,427,520,620 will be utilised for the social security hospital, whereas Rs 1,134,605,000 will be paid out to social security dispensaries and Rs 440 million will be utilized for purchase of medical equipment. He said the government had reserved Rs 42.30 billion for the provision of healthcare facilities to the people in the province. He said that the programmes launched for the maternal and neonatal healthcare will ensure progress towards achieving the millennium development goals.
