LAHORE - Following a strike call given by the Punjab Bar Council, the legal fraternity of provincial capital on Monday observed boycott of court proceedings in protest of Quetta killings.
However, the lawyers appeared before the Lahore High Court in urgent cases, which normally fix for proceedings before 10am.
The lawyers condemned the killings in Quetta saying that despite imposition of Governor Rule in Balochistan, law and order could not be maintained.
They demanded the authorities concerned to ensure protection of life and liberty of citizens of Pakistan in general and those of Balochis in particular.
The litigants who belonged to remote areas of the province had to face hardships owing to strike.
