13 cops dismissed for corruption


LAHORE - The City’s Operations Police Chief dismissed 13 police officers including five ASIs on corruption charges on Wednesday.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) also listened to the show-cause notices issued to 70 police officers ranking from constable to inspector.
He filed the show-cause notices of around 57 police officers who claimed that the allegations were leveled due to personal grudges. The DIG dismissed the show-cause notices and directed them to resume their duties from the next day.
Similarly, DIG Muhammad Rai Tahir awarded punishment of censure, forfeiting services and penalty to Inspector Imran Qamar, and Muhammad Shahid, ASI Manzoor Hussain, Head Constable Ghulam Rasool, Muhammad Ijaz, Constable Imran Safdar and Mustaneer Hussain.
At least seven culprits involved in armed robberies were arrested on Wednesday.
