LAHORE - A Nadra spokesperson has refuted the impression given in a news item published in a section of press on 18 July 2012 titled ‘People suffering due to Nadra inefficiency’, saying that the authority registers and issues computerized identity cards on the basis of documents including matriculation certificates, parents’ identity cards.
In case of any change or mistake corrections are made without any court decree or affidavit, he clarified. The spokesperson said in some rare cases Nadra asks applicants to submit degrees/affidavits so that documents’ authenticity could be checked.
Nadra, the spokesman said, has also taken several steps to facilitate citizens including reserving Friday for women’s registration day, mobile vans in far-flung areas to provide registration facilities at the doorsteps. Moreover, executive centers are operational for fast track service.
