LAHORE – Students of Allama Iqbal Medical College took out peace rally from lecture theatre to admin block on Wednesday to express solidarity with Principal of the College and Chief Executive Jinnah Hospital Prof Javed Akram and to protest against his transfer. The participants raised slogans in favour of Prof Javed Akram and against Health Department officials. They demanded withdrawal of transfer orders.
Talking to the newsmen on the conclusion of the rally, student leaders Aqib, Moiz, Zubair, Asif, Bilal, Ahmed, Sharafat Ali and others said that the institution needed an honest and capable principal like Prof Javed Akram.
They said that corrupt bureaucracy was not ready to see smooth functioning at the college and the hospital.
They demanded the government to withdraw transfer orders and allow Prof Javed Akram to continue as Principal AIMC and CE Jinnah Hospital.
