Ex-chief manager Amin Uddin has filed the contempt petition through Advocate Muhammad Sharif and submitted that the Lahore High Court (LHC) on March 2011 remitted his writ petition to the state bank governor for deciding the petitioner’s pension issue in view of the Supreme Court verdict and Ministry of Finance notification.
He submitted the apex court had treated the cost of living allowance as pension-able emoluments. The petitioner pointed out he had been retired from the services in 1996 and at the time of retirement he was drawing the said allowance.
He said the cost of living allowance should be merged in the basic pay of the petitioner, and the differential amount should be paid to him after recalculating the entire pension and other retirement benefits.
Despite the laps of six months and his various reminders to the governor state bank, the petitioner contended his application had not been decided in view of the LHC order, and he was wandering from pillar to post for relief. He prayed the court to punish governor state bank after initiating contempt proceedings against him for defying orders and asked him to implement the court orders.
