Haider Iqbal, a Government College University (GCU) student (Roll No549268), applied for rechecking that found 10 marks were not put on his award list of the subject of mathematics.
After making corrections, the total numbers of candidate has been increased from 944 to 954, thus the board entitles him to share the second position with Naeemur Rehman, it is declared.
BISE Chairman Nasrullah Virk awarded gold medal, cash prize, and certificates to the candidate at a special ceremony at the board office on Thursday. A gold medal was also awarded to GCU Vice Chancellor Dr Khaleequr Rehman.
On the occasion, the chairman apologised for this big mistake and terminated the services of Muhammad Tariq, Chief Secrecy Officer (Inter) immediately, while the re-checking committee members Abdul Ghani and Majid Umer Gul disqualified forever for any kind of board assignments. The chairman also constituted a committee to probe the matter.
