The DCO visited Icchra graveyard and got arrested two grave-diggers for not cooperating with the deputed staff. He also reprimanded the DDO (Health) on the absence of his staff. The DCO also visited Railway carriage and ordered spray on railway lines where water is standing.
Mengal said the Anti-Dengue Campaign would continue even during Eid holidays. He also urged the citizens to extend their support in this regard and maintain cleanliness in their surroundings.
Meanwhile, DCO Amin Mengal paid surprise visits to City bus stands and suspended Gulzar Ahmed, in-charge of a bus stand, and cancelled route permits of many buses on account of overcharging from passengers going to their homes for celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr.
According to details, the DCO received many complaints of overcharging on which he himself paid surprise visits to Skyways and Niazi bus stands. He held discussion with passengers who registered their complaints.
Thereafter, the Lahore DCO suspended the service of Skyways from Stands No 5 and 9, besides suspending Stand No 9 Incharge Gulzar Ahmed on his poor performance. During his visit to Niazi bus stand, he cancelled route permits of three buses for overcharging.
The DCO warned bus stand owners to refrain from overcharging and ordered them to facilitate passengers, so that they could reach their homes in time to celebrate Eid with their kith and kin. He further said the City District Government Lahore (CDGL) was responsible for providing transport facilities to the passengers.
Also, on the directions of Lahore DCO Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, Shalimar Town Assistant Commissioner Shahid Kalyani and DCO Staff Officer Tariq Zaman raided different sheesha cafés located on MM Alam Road, recovered 55 Huqas and took them in their possession.
They also sealed three sheesha cafés. It is worth mentioning that Lahore DCO Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has extended section 144 on sheesha cafés for one month and ordered officials concerned to launch a crackdown on them.
