Outlaws kill guard, loot Rs0.6 million

LAHO RE - Robbers shot dead a local security guard of a multinational company and injured another over resistance in Ghaziabad police limits on Monday. The outlaws later fled the scene after looting cash Rs 0.6 million from them. Police said deceased Iqbal Kiyani, 55, was discharging his duty as security guard of Nestle company for the last eight years. He was father of five children and resident of Jhelum. On Monday, he took cash Rs 0.6 million from the company office near Fateh Garh and was on way to Garden Town along with driver on companys van to deposit the cash in a bank. As soon as they reached near a graveyard, situated a few kilometers away from the company, a group of five bandits intercepted and held them up at gunpoint. On offering resistance, the police said, one of the robbers opened indiscriminate firing and injured Iqbal and the van driver, Raees Ahmad, critically. Later the bandits managed to escape from the spot with the cash Rs 0.6 million. Rescue 1122 and the local police rushed to the site and shifted the both injured to a local hospital where Iqbal breathed his last while the condition of other was reported to be critical. SP Cantt Ghulam Azfar confirmed the incident saying that a case has been registered against the unknown robbers on the complaint of injured van driver with no arrest so far.
