LAHORE– The Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz Lawyers Forum on Monday announced support to anti-Hamid Khan Group candidate for the election of Lahore High Court Bar Association, scheduled for February 25.
The forum’s president and MNA Naseer Ahmed Bhutta and former secretary of LHCBA Advocate Rana Asadullah Khan announced support for Advocate Shafqat Mahmood Chohan, as presidential candidate for the elections.
Earlier, Chohan was hopeful to get ticket from Hamid Khan, but Mr Khan neither gave ticket to Chohan nor to any other person from within his group, instead he has announced his support for Aslam Buttar, a candidate who never a part of Hamid Khan Group.  After this move, Chohan announced to contest election while another aspirant Advocate Javed Iqbal Raja has started supporting Asma Jahangir Group.
On the other hand, PML-N Lawyers Forum election committee has also annouced support for Rana Awais Toseef, candidate for the post of secretary of the LHCBA.
