3 gunned down over petty issue

LAHORE - A 42-year-old man and his two nephews were allegedly gunned down by their relatives over a family issue in the Hadyara area Sunday.
The deceased were identified as Ashraf, Suleman, and Farhan.
The sons of two families (Akbar and Dr Rafaqat) had scuffled while playing snooker at a local club. The notables of the area resolved the issue between both the families, residents of Barki Araiyan Wala Tharra, besides stopping them from police action against each other.
However, Dr Rafaqat group nursed the grudge and attacked Akbar’s family on Sunday. The attackers opened indiscriminate fire on Akbar’s brother-in-law Ashraf, his son Afyan and his nephews Farhan and Suleman.
The injured were shifted to the Services Hospital where Ashraf, Suleman, and Farhan succumbed to injuries. The condition of Afyan was said to be stable.
The family members of the deceased staged a demonstration against the police concerned outside the Services Hospital, which created traffic mess on Jail Road.
The protesters alleged that police were not taking action against the accused. On the other hand, police claimed to have arrested five members of the accused party.
