Raja to meet Gilani’s fate, warns Siddiq

LAHORE – Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Asharaf would meet the same fate as did his predecessor Yousaf Raza Gilani if he did not comply with the Supreme court order of writing to the Swiss authorities for reinitiating money laundering cases against President Asif Ali Zardari, PML-N leader Siddiqul Farooq said on Friday while talking to TheNation.
Answering a question regarding his party’s line of action if the new prime minister was also removed from the office, Siddiq said the PML-N would accept only constitutional dispensation and would not support undemocratic elements if they tried to exploit the situation. “The same sentiments were expressed by Supreme Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Husain Chaudhry while addressing the Karachi bar the other day,” he added.
Siddiq further said his party demanded early elections since democratic process could only be sustained this way.
