LAHO RE - FIA court on Thursday imposed a fine of Rs 7,000 each on five deported persons who tried to cross the Greek border. According to details, the FIA Immigration Cell arrested Abid Ali, Hussain, Shabbir, Muhammad Nawaz and Sajjad Mehmud from Allam Iqbal International Airport as they were deported by the Greek Government. The said persons had gone to Turkey on legal visas as from there they tried to cross the Greek border illegally but the Greek government immigration department nabbed and arrested them. On Thursday FIA court after going through the record and hearing the arguments of both the parties, imposed the above said fines on the deported persons. case against DSP ordered: An Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Yousaf Aujla ordered the registration of a criminal case against DSP of Chung Police Qamer Mansoor for releasing a proclaimed offender namely Iqbal from the police station. Punjab Police Inspector Ghulam Dastgir had filed a petition in the court contending that the abovementioned DSP was conducting investigation against the PO for killing his (inspector) wife Shahnaz and father Yasin but instead of proceeding against the alleged murder, the DSP allowed Iqbal to leave the police station. The counsel of Dastagir informed the court through evidence and witnesses that the Iqbal was arrested and presented in the police station for investigation but the said DSP set Iqbal free. On, petitioners counsel plea, the court directed DSP Investigation to register the case against the DSP Qamar, and submit a report in this regard before the court on next fixed date.
