LAHORE - Central leader of PML-N and MNA Hamza Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated Food Street at Fort Road under City District Government here on Saturday. Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Atta-ul-Haq Qasmi, Actor Firdous Jamal, Ustad Hamid Ali Khan, renowned personalities of music, art, journalism, literature and a large number of notables were also present on the occasion.
The citizens of Lahore can enjoy the traditional and nontraditional food in the newly set up food street from Sunday. It is hoped that the new Food Street between Lahore Fort and Badshahi Mosque would become the biggest center of attraction for the national and international guests.
For renovation of the new Food Street, 25 old historic buildings have been decorated with colours and lights and services of renowned painters and architects were utilized for highlighting the cultural beauty of the city.
The V-shaped Food Street has been set up on 1.4 KM long road and old small shops of edible items set up alongside the wall of Badshahi Mosque are reflective of ancient and beautiful tradition of the city.
