LAHORE – A 21-year-old factory worker committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling fan in the Shahdara area, police said on Monday.
Resident of Chishtian, Imran Munir, was residing alone in a residential quarter on rent in the Shamsabad area and he was working at a shoemaking factory. Khalid Munir told the police that his elder brother, Imran, was upset for the last several days after the family elders refused to tie his knot with the girl of his choice.
Police investigators said that the dead body of the youth was hanging from the ceiling fan with a rope tied to his neck as they entered the house. The police handed over the dead body to the deceased’s family.
