Expats reluctant to invest in Pakistan


LAHORE – Overseas Pakistanis are reluctant to invest in Pakistan because of the poor law and order situation and rampant corruption in the country, Pak-American League President Dr Nisar A Chaudhry.
Speaking at Aiwan-i-Waqt Thursday, he rulers and political leaders should make the restoration of law and order as their top priority. He said Indians, Chinese and citizens of other countries living in the US were investing their money in their respective countries because it was safe.Dr Chaudhry believed that in the prevailing situation nobody would like to put their money at risk by investing in Pakistan.
Answering a question, he said the caretaker prime minister should be someone aware of the problems of his countrymen.
He was supportive of the agreements signed by Pakistan with Iran and China for a gas pipeline and Gwadar port.
He said the US should not oppose cooperation between Pakistan and Iran.
