LAHORE – A policewoman committed suicide by shooting herself in the temple in the North Cantonment area, police said on Friday.
Lady Constable, Shumaila Bibi, who contracted court marriage with Faiz-Ullah, also a police constable, just three months ago shot herself dead at her house situated at Almadar Road in the North Cantonment area.
It is not clear yet what compelled the newly-married police officer to commit self-murder but the family told the police that her brothers were angry and they used to taunt her since she contracted the court marriage. Police investigators said that the constable was lying dead in a pool of blood in her bedroom when they reached the spot. POISONED TO DEATH: Unidentified swindlers poisoned a 45-year-old woman to death and fled away after collecting her belongings in the Data Darbar area. Police said that the deceased woman, who was later identified as Nawab Bibi, was lying unconscious on the premises of the shrine.
