Heat wave persists in City

June 23, 2012

LAHORE – Like other parts of the country, the City remained in the grip of severe heat wave on Friday with experts predicting the prevailing conditions to persist during the next couple of days.
Unscheduled and large-scale load shedding added to the woes of the heat-striken people. Harsh weather conditions forced the Lahorites to stay indoors and avoid unnecessarily coming out on roads, reducing traffic at otherwise busy arteries at noon and in the afternoon.
Sibi remained the hottest place in the country where mercury rose as high as 49 degree Celsius. Maximum and minimum temperature in the City was recorded 44 C and 31 C, respectively. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded 35 per cent.
