‘Medical profession a mission to serve humans’

LAHORE (PR) – Lahore Corps Commander Lt Gen Rashad Mahmood has said the medical profession was a lifelong mission to serve the cause of humanity; and professional competence coupled with caring attitude towards ailing humans determines the success of a medical practitioner.

Addressing the newly-graduated doctors at the 1st Convocation of the CMH Lahore Medial College on Saturday, Lt Gen Rashad Mahmood exhorted the young graduates that professional competence could only be attained through relentless and enduring pursuit of excellence in the ever-expanding spheres of medical science.
“Pakistan Army, besides its role as the custodian of national frontiers, has always been a forerunner in terms of contribution to nation-building. In this regard, the network of Combined Military Hospitals was making an enormous contribution by providing affordable health services throughout the country,” he said.
He hoped the students of CMH Lahore Medical College would emulate their predecessors and bring a good name to their alma mater. Earlier, College Principal Lt Gen (r) Afzal Ahmad lauded the faculty for outstanding results in the MBBS Final Exam.
